Anthony Whistler (baptized 15 November 1714 - 1754) was an English poet.
Youth and education[]
Whistler was born in Whitchurch, Oxfordshire, the oldest of 4 children of Anna and Rev. Anthony Whistler.[1]
He was educated at Eton College.[1]
He attended Pembroke College, Oxford, where he became friends with William Shenstone, Richard Graves, and Richard Jago.[2]
Recognition[]
4 of his poems were included in Dodsley's Collection of Poems in Six Volumes, by several hands.[3]
