Antony Rowland (born 1970) is an English poet and academic.[1]

Life[]
Youth and education[]
Rowland was born in Bradford, West Yorkshire.[2]
He attended university at Hull and Leeds. His Ph.D. thesis was on the Holocaust poetry of Tony Harrison; he has continued his interest in that area, publishing Holocaust Poetry: Awkward Poetics in the Work of Sylvia Plath, Geoffrey Hill, Tony Harrison and Ted Hughes in 2005.[1]
Career[]
Rowland is a Professor of Literary Studies at the University of Salford,[3] where he teaches literature and creative writing.[2]
His poetry has appeared in journals, literary magazines, and anthologies including Critical Quarterly, Stand, P.N. Review, New Poetries III, and, Identity Parade: New British and Irish poets.[1]
Recognition[]
Rowland received an Eric Gregory Award in 2000, and a Learning Northwest Award in 2001.[2]
