Joseph Allen (born 1961)[1] is an Irish poet.

Life[]

Allen was born in Ballymena, co. Antrim.[2]

His poetry has appeared in The Antigonish Review, Agenda, Ambit, Acumen, Black Mountain Review, Cyphers, The London Magazine, Orbis, Poetry Ireland Review, Poetry Salzburg Review, The Reader, Rope, The Shop, The South Carolina Review, and The Stinging Fly.[2]

In addition to his poetry, Allen is a delta blues guitarist, singer and harmonica player who has recorded 4 CD's, and who performs in a bluegrass/folk band called Sour Hill. He writes articles on music and poetry for publictions that include The Ulster Folk and Blues Matters.[2]
