Guernica Editions is a Canadian independent book publisher.
History[]
Guernica was established in Montreal, Quebec, in 1978, by Antonio D'Alfonso, with a mandate: to publish prose, poetry, non-fiction, and drama reflecting a commitment to a social agenda. In 1994, operations were moved to Toronto, Ontario. By its 20th anniversary in 1998, Guernica had published 270 titles by over 500 authors.[1]
Guernica today[]
Guernica specializes in Canadian literature, poetry and nonfiction, and has published over 500 authors, among which are recipients of the Governor General's Award and the American Book Award.
Guernica's current publishers are Connie McParland and editor in chief Michael Mirolla.
Guernica's Writers Series[]
Guernica's Writers Series is a collection of anthologies featuring Canadian writers, such as P.K. Page, Alistair MacLeod and Don McKay.
