The Internet Poetry Archive is an online archive of selected poems by living poets from around the world

The goals of the Archives are: making poetry accessible to new audiences at little or no cost, and giving teachers and students of poetry new ways of presenting and studying these poets and their texts. It is a joint venture of the University of North Carolina Press and the University of North Carolina Office of Information Technology, and is sponsored by UNC Press and the North Carolina Arts Council.

The section for each poet includes a photograph, a list of poems selected by the poet, a comment by the poet on the selected works, a critical biography of the poet prepared by a scholar familiar with the poet's work, and a short bibliography. The section for each poem includes the text, an audio clip of the poet reading the poem, and (where applicable) graphics that would help a reader understand the poem (such as a map, or an illustration, of a place mentioned in it). Where a poem is in a language other than English, it is presented in both its original language and an English translation.

Poets archived to date are Seamus Heaney, Yusef Komunyakaa, Philip Levine, Czeslaw Milosz, Robert Pinsky, Margaret Walker, and Richard Wilbur.

The project co-ordinator is poet Paul Jones, who is assisted by an editorial board. Support for the project is provided by IBM and IBiblio.org.
