John Buchannan (1810-1891) was an English poet and newspaper editor.[1]
Life[]
Buchannan lived in Whitby, Yorkshire. He published his only collection of poetry at 18.[1]
He was articled as an attorney, and is said to have enjoyed distinction in the legal profession. For 3 years he edited the Whitby Advertiser, to which he contributed verse under the pen name of "Vincent Shadewell."[1]
