John Rutter (1717 fl.) was an Irish poet.

Life[]
All that is known of Rutter is his book, Bethlem Hospital, which was published anonymously, but a copy of which is attributed to "John Rutter, M.A. of Dublin University." He is not listed in Alumni Dublinenses (1924), or mentioned in D.J. O'Donoghue's Poetry of Ireland (1912).[1]
