Rev. John Straight (1687-1736) was an English poet.[1]

Straight was a fellow of Magdalen College, Oxford.[2]

Career[]

He served as vicar of Findon in Sussex.[2]

Writing[]

Straight's Select Discourses on Moral and Religious Subjects were published posthumously in 1641, by subscription, for the benefit of his widow.[2]

Recognition[]

Robert Dodsley included 6 of Straight's poems in his Collection of Poems in Six Volumes; by several hands.[1]
