Dr. John Swanwick Drennan (1809-1893) was an Irish poet and physician.
Life[]
Drennan was born in Belfast, a son of Sarah (Swanwick) and poet William Drennan and a grandson of Thomas Drennan, minister of the First Presbyterian Church, Belfast. He had an elder brother, also William Drennan (1802-1873).[1]
He became president of the Ulster Medical Society.[2]
Recognition[]
His poems, "On the Telescopic Moon" and "Epigrams", were featured in The Faber Book of Irish Verse, 1974.[1]
