Martha Peckard (1729-1805) was an English poet.
Life[]
She was born Martha Ferrar, the oldest daughter of Huntingdon attorney Edward Ferrar, a descendant of the Ferrar family of Little Gidding. Little is known of her early life and education.[1]
On 13 June 1755 she married Rev. Peter Peckard (bap. 1717 - 1797).[1]
Recognition[]
Her poems "Ode to Cynthia" and "Ode to Spring" were printed in Robert Dodsley's Collection of Poems in Six Volumes; by Several Hands.[2]
