Mrs. Mary Bridges Canedy Slade (January 18, 1826 - April 15, 1882) was an American poet, hymnist, and educator.
Life[]
Slade was born on January 18, 1826, in Fall River, Massachusetts.[1]
Slade lived her entire life in Fall River.[2]
She was a teacher and writer, and an assistant editor of The New England Journal of Education.[2]
She died April 15, 1882, in Fall River. She is buried in Somerset, Massachusetts.[1]
Writing[]
Slade wrote a number of gospel songs, several of which are still sung today.[2]
