The Modern American Poetry Site (MAPS) is a website maintained as a learning environment and scholarly forum for the study of modern and contemporary American Poetry.

About[]

The Modern American Poetry Site is edited by Cary Nelson and Bartholomew Brinkman, and maintained by the University of Illinois. Site design is by Brinkman and Matthew Hurt.[1]

The site began as an online supplement to the print Anthology of Modern American Poetry (Oxford University Press, 2000), edited by Cary Nelson. In the subsequent decade, it has grown to more than 30,000 pages of poems, biographies, and critical essays on the 161 poets featured in the anthololgy.[1]
