Patrick Dennis O'Connell (1944 - June 3, 2005) was a Canadian poet.
Life[]
O'Connell was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, to Terence and Gertrude O'Connell.[1]
He was educated at St. Paul's High School and the University of Manitoba,[1] earning a B.A. from the latter.[2]
He continued to reside in Winnipeg, where he worked at various times as a photographer, mental-health worker, teacher and jewelry-maker.[2]
Recognition[]
In 1992, he was the winner of the John Hirsch Award for Most Promising Manitoba Writer.[3]
