Penny Poetry Blog is the weblog affiliated with Penny's Poetry Pages wiki. It is maintained at Google Blogspot, and is powered by Blogger.
History[]
The blog was begun on December 12, 2009 by George J. Dance, under the name "The Betty Blog," as an archive for his long poem, "Betty" (now "Penny, or Penny's Hat").[1]
Over the next two years, four other long poems were archived there: "Betty's OS" (now "Penny's OS") by Dance in June 2010, and 3 by Wallace Stevens:
Roughly 1,000 short poems have also been archived on the blog. During its first two years, poetry was posted on a daily basis. Since the beginning of Penny's Poetry Pages in 2011, posts to Penny's Poetry Blog have been made only on weekends.
New poems posted to the blog are promoted through regular Usenet announcements, and through a Facebook page, "Penny's Poetry Page".
