Sheryl Luna (born 1965) is an American poet.
Life[]
Luna was born in El Paso, Texas. She earned a B.A. at Texas Tech University, an M.F.A. from the University of Texas at El Paso, an M.A. in English from Texas Woman’s University, and a Ph.D. in contemporary literature from the University of North Texas.
Luna's poetry has appeared in Georgia Review, Prairie Schooner, Poetry Northwest, Puerto del Sol, Kalliope, and the Notre Dame Review.[1]
Recognition[]
Luna was a finalist in the 2003 National Poetry Series.[1] Her debut poetry collection, Pity the Drowned Horses (2005), was selected by Robert Vasquez as the inaugural winner of the Andrés Montoya Poetry Prize.[2]
