The Statue[]
I have left a song —
A strong cry of exultation
Standing under the dome
Of the Great Central.
A cry . . . a song . . .
A long white gesture of love
With upturned lyric palms
Held out to the people . . .
The nervous . . . hurried . . . weary . . . blind . . . deaf people
Passing . . . .
