For another prize of the same name, see Witter Bynner Prize for undergraduate excellence in poetry.
The Witter Bynner Poetry Prize was established by the American Academy and Institute of Arts and Letters in 1979 to support the work of a young poet. The prize was funded by the Witter Bynner Foundation, named for the poet Witter Bynner. The final award was given in 2002.
